Cell edition in the grid β
Triggering a cell edit β
WARNING
To enter in edit mode, a cell must:
- not be defined as "read only" in the current screen
- belong to the same level as the one associated with the current screen
- not be a conditional formatting cell
A cell edition may be triggered by two distinct actions:
- Double click on a cell
- Start typing while the cell is selected
Escaping a cell edit β
A user can escape a cell edition by hitting the escape key. This will trigger a cell edit cancelation and the previous value will be restored.
Applying a cell edit β
A cell edition may be applied using the following actions:
- Hitting the "Enter" key
- Hitting the "Enter" key does not apply the cell edit if the current cell is associated with a classification, or if the cell is for a
LONG-TEXT,HTML-TEXT,MULTIPLE-SELECT,MULTIPLE-SELECT-QUANTIFIED,MULTIPLE-SELECT-QUANTIFIED-WITH-COMMENTS - The cell immediately below the current cell will be selected
- Hitting the "Enter" key does not apply the cell edit if the current cell is associated with a classification, or if the cell is for a
- Clicking outside the cell (anywhere inside the browser)
- Hitting the "Tab" key
- The cell immediately following the current cell on the right will be selected
Deleting a cell content β
The content of a cell can be deleted by hitting the "delete" key while the cell is selected. The content of the cell will be cleared.
Remark:
- If the cell is a field of type
NUMBERwith a list of suffixes, the suffix will be cleared as well
Details regarding the cell edition β
The NUMBER data type β
In edit mode, the accepted values for the NUMBER data type depend on the language of the platform for the current user.
If the proposed value is not a valid number, an error message will be displayed and if applied, the previous value will be restored.
The accepted values are described below:
Language: French (fre)
The French number formatting uses "," for decimal separator, and " " for thousands separator (the " " may be omitted). Ex : "1 000,1" for one thousand and a tenth.

Details regarding the NUMBER field with a list of suffixes
- If the field has a list of suffixes, the list will be displayed in a dedicated dropdown next to the input field.
- If the list of suffixes has a default value
- If the cell has no value, on edition, the default value for the suffix will be selected by default
- If the cell already has a value for the suffix part, the previous value will be selected by default
- If the list of suffixes has no default value
- If the cell has no value, on edition, the first value of the list will be selected by default
- If the cell already has a value for the suffix part, the previous value will be selected by default
- A number may not be saved if no correct value is provided
- The suffix only is not enough to save a number
- A number may exist without a suffix, but a suffix may not exist without a number
